Meet Arlene H.

Back in 1975, after being on the PTA for years, I quit and ended up having a lot of free time. One day I noticed an announcement in my church’s bulletin about a ladies' home prayer meeting and decided to try it out.

I thought those ladies were crazy! “Praise Jesus” this and “Praise Jesus” that. “Don’t pray to the saints and angels, only pray to the Father in Jesus’ name.” Really? I thought these ladies were all traditional Catholics.

It was only by the leading of the Holy Spirit that I went back for a second and third time. By my third week, I actually felt like God was speaking to me about something that I was going through, and then I began to think that maybe these ladies weren’t that crazy after all.

A few weeks later, I gave my heart to Jesus and was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Although I hadn’t prayed in the Holy Spirit until several months later, I knew something wonderful and miraculous had happened to me.

It has been years since we’ve seen one another but those ladies are still close in my heart and always in my prayers.
